901 Bourke St Waterloo
SATURDAY 18 August

A night of warmth, connection and intimacy is here to heat up the winter edition of Our Hood on Saturday 18th August.

FBi Radio are presenting a fiery live music line-up, where you can let loose to synth-funk R&B from The Goods, iconic hip hop and soul emcee Mirrah, and be serenaded by 20 sparkly femme fatales from Bad Bitch Choir, reworking all your 90s faves.

Our friends at TEDxHaymarket will kickstart a very cosy night with talks and workshops on how to make meaningful personal connections in just 60 minutes. Take your new found friends to the dancefloor, where Sydney Dancehall Royalty will bring you a night of hypnotic Afro-Caribbean rhythms. Taking you on a journey from Kingston to Lagos to carnival season in Port of Spain.

In addition, Ginga Me dance group will be showing how to whine like a pro with an explosive live performance and beginner dance class from famed Sydney dancer Ama Ryllis.

If you’re feeling extra fabulous don't miss the Flow Yoga run by drag superstar Dusty Glass, where you can shake your asana in the sparkliest yoga class in the city.

Wander through a multi-media exhibition curated by BTW, exploring themes of combined cultural identities in Australia, and honouring past, embracing present, pondering future.

And if that’s not enough you’ll be able to grab a mulled wine and peruse the Locally Made markets, life drawing classes, eat delicious local food, head to the barber shop by BeardsOn and discover lots of secret corners (did someone say hidden rum bar?)

Doors open from 4pm, kids and pups all welcome. Grab your tickets before they sell out, only $10.

Kids under 12 enter free.
