Nuts about Mylk

  • COMMUNE 901 Bourke Street Waterloo, NSW, 2017 Australia (map)

Learn how to make your own plant based milks (for smoothies, coffee and more) at home! If you're avoiding dairy due to having allergies and sensitivities or are vegan or just prefer the taste of plant based milks, DIY nut milks are a great (and healthier) alternative to milk.

There is more to nut mylk than meets the eye; it's not as simple as blending and pouring. This DIY workshop will cover the science behind eating nuts and which nuts to choose in order to maximise you're nutrient intake. Most importantly, you'll also learn how to remove phytic acids (harmful components of nuts and seeds) and prepare them properly for digestion.

Not only will you get to taste a range of dairy free nut and seed milks, you will walk away with the tools to take your new skill home!

What you’ll learn:
- How to make food more digestible
- Why it's important to make your own milk
- The hidden harmful chemicals in commercially made nut milks
- The empowerment that comes with making food from scratch
- Food intolerances - what, how and why

What you’ll get:
- Your own bespoke nut milk to take home
- A nut bag to assist with filtration
- Tips and recipes to take home

What to bring:
- Paper and pen for note taking
- A smile!

About the teacher:
