Life Down Under: Fahim Alam

  • COMMUNE 901 Bourke Street Waterloo, NSW, 2017 Australia (map)

Solo Photography Exhibition at COMMUNE Waterloo

ABOUT Fahim
b. 1992 Bangladesh-born Australian | Photographer

Fahim picked up his first camera when he moved to Sydney, documenting the people and culture he has encountered. It inspired him to share the stories of how he viewed his surroundings from a different perspective; even the monotonous aspects of human life became an interesting palette. Fahim's work is focused on capturing the unplanned stages in public space, the decisive moments and the facial emotions in the strangers he crosses path with every day.

As he prepares to move on to his next chapter of life in Bangladesh he will be sharing some of his work in his first solo exhibition displaying selected photos he has captured over the six years he spent in Australia. The exhibition aims to raise funds for an aid agency located in Bangladesh who run a school for displaced Rohingya children. The exhibition will also host a silent auction to sell the photos.
