Natural Perfume Making

  • COMMUNE 901 Bourke Street Waterloo Australia (map)

Have you ever wanted to create your own, completely unique, signature perfume? Come and delight your senses in this intimate two hour workshop where you'll discuss the metaphysical aspects of oils and learn to use your intention and intuition when choosing scents.

You'll be invited to smell over 60 natural essential oils, absolutes and resins while you learn the history and methodology of perfumery. You'll learn about top, middle and base notes as we look at fragrance wheels and concentrations in French perfumery.

Following a delicious vegan morning tea, you'll return to the mixing table to make your very own perfume from our vast collection of oils. You'll be given the option to either make an atomiser (alcohol based) or a roll-on perfume (jojoba base). Once you're happy with your new scent, you can then create a bonus 2ml perfume with a jojoba base of either rose, jasmine or neroli!

What you’ll learn:

- Which oils belong to which scent groups
- Top, middle and base notes
- Fragrance wheels and concentrations in French perfumery
- How to write a recipe and mix your own perfume

What you'll get:

- A guided mixing session
- Your own 10ml perfume with a high concentration of essential oils
- Notes, including a colour fragrance wheel
- 2ml bonus anointing perfume
- Vegan morning tea
- Everything you need to know to continue to experiment with natural perfumery
- The option to purchase perfume starter kits and more

What to bring:

- An apron or old clothes to wear
- Paper and pen for note taking
- A smile!
